Story
Every night, seven days a week, there are a few hundred staff working on the front line putting their own health at risk to look after some very sick patients who are battling COVID-19. We've all seen the news, we know what they're facing. The staff are tired after the last 10 months, but they keep going because lives depend on it.
Thanks to generous donors, in recent weeks Kingston Hospital Charity has been funding a nutritious hot meal, each night for these workers, cooked by local restaurants. Not only does this support the vital front line team, it also helps to support the restaurants themselves. But obviously, the funds are limited.
Its gone really well so far. Hospital staff have been hugely grateful for this demonstration of thanks and its been a real morale booster. But the current arrangement comes to an end on Friday 22nd January, and the pressures from the pandemic on intensive care are likely to continue. We want your help to fund these meals up until the end of February.
You can do this as follows:
- A donation of £6 will help to provide ONE hot meal for ONE front line night worker, and generate some revenue for local restaurants.
- A donation of £40 will help to provide ONE hot meal for ONE front line night worker for a WEEK, and generate some revenue for local restaurants.
- A donation of £250 will help to provide ONE hot meal for ONE front line night worker for 6 WEEKS, and generate some revenue for local restaurants.
Its a little like making a space for one more person round the dinner table each night to say thank you.
We have set an initial target of £19,000 that covers the first two weeks from the 22nd of January to the 5th of February. If this goes well, we will update the target to support further weeks.
Please share this initiative widely with family and friends!
THANK YOU
