Story
On the 9th of November, the second largest crypto exchange in the world, FTX, halted all transactions out of their exchange, declaring they did not have money to cover client withdraws. This came a day after their CEO, Sam Bankman-Fried declared FTX had enough money to cover all client holdings
In an unfortunate turn of events, the funds we had just raised were on FTX during the 3 days it was imploding due to a Magic Eden launchpad policy to escrow funds. We managed to move some funds out but $82,000USD was frozen in a transaction, which included $15,000 for our charity partner, Equal Playing Field.
Gyris Studios was originally created as a way to provide financial support for Equal Playing Field and the programs they run to prevent violence against women and children in Papua New Guinea. We are determined to honour our commitment to them. Regardless of what happens with Gyris Studios, our priority is to raise the $15,000 meant for Equal Playing Field.
We are calling on the crypto and NFT community to pull together for a good cause and help us raise the money back to help Equal Playing Field continue to run programs in Papau New Guinea. PNG has some of the highest rates of domestic violence in the world outside of a warzone.
Adam Everill, founder of Gyris and cofounder of Equal Playing Field, will be running a 50km ultra through the mountains of Wollongong to support this fundraising event. If you would like to help you can donate via the link or send SOL to 22jNkTFwYz7ca2BPawo8DjaDA3Jy5y9ehCkKAM8KLZxy.
All proceeds go to Equal Playing Field.
