Why a Virtual Run, Walk, and Bike-a-thon?

Last year's inaugural Virtual 5K displayed our community spirit in action. This year, we continue the theme, "In Community, In Spirit," because it shows how it is important to show up for each other no matter where we are. The #FSS5K will foster community and support our school and its mission in the process. Part of the mission of Friends Select is that both direct experience and the young person's developmental needs are central in the learning process and that learning should be placed at the service of society. It is in that spirit that we will celebrate who we are as we come together to run walk or bike the #FSS5K.

Your donation will directly impact our students, faculty, and staff, allowing our diverse community of learners to be uplifted and uplift others while critically engaging with the world from a variety of perspectives.

How do I get started?

Set up your 5K page (free) by clicking the "Start Fundraising" button above. Once you create your page you can customize it by adding pictures or video, connecting to a Facebook live feed, or your Strava account. Share your page with family and friends asking them to support you. When you are ready to run, walk, or bike your 5K pick your route and go for it any time between April 20-30. Use Strava to record your time and route or just share about it on your page with pictures!

What do I get if I finish the 5K?

All participants who set up a fundraising page and raise at least $25 will be sent 1 finisher's medal.

How can I run, walk, or bike the 5K without setting up a fundraising page?

You can register here and we will send you 1 finisher's medal. But, we hope you change your mind, setting up a fundraising page is fun and easy. Try it!
