RAISING FUNDS TO EQUIP ALL OUR CLASSROOMS WITH THE BEST TECHNOLOGY.
Our Local Authority is one of the lowest funded in the country, and within this, Romiley Primary is one of the lowest funded schools, receiving £300 less per pupil than the Stockport average. This equates to over £140,000 less per year than the average Stockport school.
In a further example of how unequal the current funding model is, a school in our neighbouring Manchester Local Authority of similar size and demographic as Romiley Primary receives more than £600 per pupil compared to us, resulting in over £283,000 in additional funding.
Despite this unequal funding, Romiley Primary continues to consistently show results well above the national average.
These continued cuts to the School's budget means that it simply cannot afford many of the resources that it needs.
This is where we can help.
Following a successful win on the Promethean Grant in 2018, Romiley Primary School has benefited from increased student engagement and technology use in class thanks to the Promethean ActivPanel.
Before the win on the Promethean Grant, the front of class technology at Romiley Primary School hadnt been upgraded for over 18 years. With budgets not stretching far enough to cover tech upgrades, and seeing the power of the new technology on student engagement and participation, we have launched a powerful campaign to kit out the entire school with Promethean ActivPanels.
Our long term fundraising target is funding the installation of new Promethean ActivPanels in every single classroom to aid our teachers in delivering the curriculum in a way which can reach and engage every single pupil in our School Community. Our total campaign target is a staggering £42,000.
So far this year we have purchased and installed four brand new boards and arranged the very best training for our teachers from Promethean UK themselves.
Despite the ongoing restrictions we face due to COVID-19, we are still determined to continue with our fundraising efforts and find new ways to reach our goal.
