Story

This year’s Friary Winter Appeal is seeking to raise funds that will support the physical and mental well-being of visitors to our centre in 2024.

Giving visitors who attend the centre access to activities and one to one support is fundamental to our work in 2024. Feedback from visitors is that being listened to and understood is the reason they feel comfortable at the Friary and we remain committed to offering visitor’s access to our team of experienced and compassionate support workers.

Providing emotional support to those who need it is a significant part of our service and builds a trust that leads to a confidence in our visitors that there is a way forward. We have a group of support workers who are now established in the organisation and provide a consistency that makes all the difference. Friary General Manager Ann Bremner provides the team of workers with support and guidance.

As well as the support at the Drop-In Centre, two workers will now offer further support and lead activities at the Friary allotment site. This development has also been launched following visitor feedback.

If you are able to support our work in 2024 please donate to our Winter Appeal using the link which is also available on our website.
