Frankie L. Perry had an enormous impact on so many people throughout her lifetime professionally and personally; a life well lived. Frankie Perry devoutly served Hurley Medical Center for nearly 30 years. Her enthusiasm and steadfast efforts were instrumental in helping Hurley Medical Center become a health care leader. An administrator who came from the ranks of nursing, she brought unique talents to the hospital. Her support of medical education and research in particular helped Hurley grow into a regional referral center. During Frankie’s career at Hurley she was a tireless promoter of Hurley Medical Center and demonstrated constant and never changing commitment to the healthcare community. She was a pioneer in the development of the patient advocacy program and physician referral network, among other programs. Frankie was recognized as the first female recipient of the American College of Healthcare Executives 2011 Lifetime Service Award. Frankie was a long time member of the Faculty of the University of New Mexico and continued teaching Healthcare Management through Fall Semester 2024. She shared her vast experience, wisdom with her students while connecting and mentoring healthcare professionals. Frankie published several books and articles on healthcare management, always striving to improve healthcare leadership. Through her vast years of experience she valued and acknowledged the strong, competent community of healthcare professionals that networked, mentored and were always available for each other. It is only fitting that her legacy in striving for excellence in healthcare and leadership continue.
