Story
The Founder's Day Fete, organised by FQE, is the single biggest annual fundraiser to provide state-of-the-art facilities, and increased opportunities, for the benefit of the students. Thanks to previous fundraising efforts, the School now has a fabulous library, multi-purpose hall, swimming pool and a marvellous dining hall, and, most recently, new music facilities, including The Friends' Recital Hall. QE continues to have ambitious goals for the construction of outstanding new facilities. Our current project is the Robert Dudley Studio for drama and spoken word activities, such as debating and public speaking. We are also refurbishing science labs for higher level Chemistry.
Our enduring objective is to raise money to fund new developments at the School, from which all students will directly benefit. The fete usually makes about £20,000 for the School and this support is needed more than ever in the current climate. With this being the School's 450th anniversary, we are hoping to raise over £25,000. The Elizabethan community has risen to the challenge in the past, so we are counting on your support this year!
Generations of boys have been helped by the extraordinary generosity of parents, friends, neighbours, and Old Elizabethans. Please give however much you can and leave a message of support.
There are naturally costs associated with running the fete, which is a great cultural and community experience. Donations help ensure that we maximise the amount raised for transformational developments at the School.
