Commemorating 108 Years of Service in Chicago
In November of 1914, Marillac St. Vincent Family Services began its journey to create one of the largest footprints of any human services organization in Chicago, serving thousands of individuals each year from our Lincoln Park and East Garfield Park centers. For over 100 years we have been dedicated to serving our community through education, social services, and by creating opportunities for the most vulnerable.
Your support will offset the rising costs of groceries while combating Food Apartheid
Finding healthy food choices was a challenge before the pandemic and this obstacle continues to grow. Over the last year, basic grocery prices have increased significantly.
Food Pantry staff and volunteers continually hear similar conversations along the line of: "As food prices go up, you help me to get things that are more expensive freeing up some of my money to buy other groceries and pay bills like rent."
Food Apartheid, recognized as both the areas where there are "Food Deserts" and the systemic racism that created them, has also added to the challenges our community members face.
Because of these factors, our food pantries have experienced an average increase of 22% in the number of NEW families served EACH MONTH.
Join us as we help our clients so they can use the money they save to better their families, pay bills, and prepare for the Chicago winter.
Dennis has been coming to the Marillac St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry since 1995. As a senior, he is living on a fixed income and will benefit from your generous support.
We are humbled by your consideration to make a donation and/or your interest in creating a personal Giving Page to encourage others to see the need and contribute to our food pantries.
