Story
You are all invited to raise money and get involved for International Women’s Day. Come for a sea dip with us at Bournemouth Beach, or attend a local chilly dip.
Last year’s Sea Dip for International Women’s Day was such a success that we’d like to do it all over again this year, but we want to go even bigger!
On Wednesday 6th March 2024 the McCarthy Stone Foundation with our McCarthy Stone Women’s Network is organising a number of fundraising chilly dips and we’d love everyone to get involved!
As well as our Bournemouth Sea Dip, we’d like to have chilly dips in a variety of locations across the country. If you’d like arrange one in your local area then please get in touch. Think outdoor swimming pools, reservoirs or even an unheated hot tub! Contact: julialaister@mccarthyandstone-foundation-org.uk
Here’s the details of the Bournemouth sea dip. Everyone is welcome, so grab your swimwear, wetsuits and towels and join us for a spring dip:
• Wednesday 6th March 2024 – 12.30pm
• East of Bournemouth Pier (exact location TBC)
• Hot drinks, cakes and sweet treats
IT'S NOT JUST FOR WOMEN!
ALL are welcome – colleagues, homeowners, families, partners, suppliers and friends – please get people involved and help us raise money, and celebrate International Women’s Day, where we celebrate women's achievements and raise awareness about discrimination.
FUNDRAISING
We are raising funds for the McCarthy Stone Foundation. All donations will be matched by McCarthy Stone and donated to the charity. You can set up your own JustGiving page if you’d like to get some sponsorship before the event, or bring along some cash/card on the day and make donation.
COLD WATER SWIMMING
Cold water swimming, especially in the sea has huge health benefits both physically and mentally – if you haven’t tried it before do give it a go!
However, the average sea temperature in Bournemouth in March is around 8 degrees, so please make sure that you read up on safety advice before jumping in. Bring plenty of warm clothes for after, and don’t stay in too long!
