Story
The fostering community, friends and supporters are taking to the streets, lanes and country paths to show their support for The Fostering Network, during Foster Care Fortnight, 13-26 May. By taking part in Foster Walk, you join hundreds of people across the UK, celebrating #FosteringMoments and helping to make foster care the best it can be.
Today, there are over 70,000 children and young people living in foster care across the UK. And every 20 minutes another child comes into care in need of a foster family. Our amazing fostering community provides them with safe and loving homes for as long as they need. Let’s make this our biggest walk yet, for them!
Your support will help The Fostering Network provide vital support, advice and training to foster carers so they can provide the best possible care. And it will help us encourage and support more people to foster, to meet the shortage of thousands we are facing today.
By enjoying moments together on a Foster Walk and raising funds for our shared cause, you can help ensure more life changing moments for children and their foster families into the future.

Update:
Fatima Whitbread MBE, Olympic athlete and a champion for care experienced children, is taking on this year’s Foster Walk challenge and boosting our campaign for support.
Fatima will cross the UK to join us on three back-to-back Foster Walk events during Foster Care Fortnight, in Derry, Cardiff and London. She joins foster families, fostering services, supporters and friends to help raise funds for The Fostering Network.
"I have first-hand experience of how foster care can change lives. That’s why I’m dedicated to building a better future for those in the care system.
"I know change is possible when people come together to work for a shared vision. Will you join me in celebrating and supporting the fostering community this Foster Care Fortnight?"
