Story
Our For the Love of Valentines campaign has been led by one of our amazing Guide Communicators who has decided to shave off her hair to raise funds for Deafblind Scotland! We know this is possibly a bit too extreme for most, but love the idea of doing something amazing For the Love of, it could be Deafblind Scotland, it could be in memory of someone or something special to you. Join our campaign by choosing something you would like to do For the Love of, and you can make a one-off donation or set up a fundraising page and involve your friends and family.
Last year was definitely challenging, and this year has certainly had a difficult start, but thanks to your generosity, we are able to continue to support Deafblind people throughout Scotland.
We have had to adapt many of our activity programs and many of our members are now expert Zoom users! Our focus and drive is to ensure no one is more isolated than need be, and our Well-Being project is just one scheme helping to ensure that this is the case.
As part of this project, our Guide Communicators provide regular health and wellbeing phone calls, emails and visits (wearing PPE) to Deafblind people. The Well-Being project has allowed us to reach people who have little or no other source of funded support and therefore are extremely isolated. We know that this service is having a positive impact and is proving an invaluable service to the Deafblind people we support many of whom are experiencing high levels of stress and distress.
By supporting our campaign we are able to continue to reach some of the most isolated people in our society. We are able to help Deafblind people stay connected, help them know they are cared about and most importantly that they are not alone.
