Fort Hays Honor Society (FHHS) is an invitation only student- led organization that consists of students with a cumulative GPA of 3.8 or higher. FHHS has the highest GPA admittance and retention GPA requirements among FHSU honor societies, therefore, this organization includes top tier students here at FHSU. FHHS is also the largest student organization at FHSU with over 200 members. We regularly utilize our high numbers to lend a helping hand to other organizations and make campus a better place.
One of our biggest outreach events is Disability Awareness Week (DAW). During the course of this week, we host guest speakers, events, simulations, and activities for students to learn more, experience, and understand the daily struggles of being disabled. It is important to FHHS that we properly inform students about the different types of disabilities and how it affects each individual person.
Another event that FHHS considers beneficial to students is our Member Etiquette Banquet. The banquet is a one evening event in which we have a mentor explain and demonstrate the proper etiquette for a delicate dinner. During the dinner, members will practice advanced table manners, match utensils to their correct dishes, and learn about what appropriate attire is considered for such functions. The skills learned at this banquet will forever be an asset to our members through their future careers, relationships, and lives.
