Story
On Sunday 6th March 2022, join the Grief Encounter Forget-Me-Not Walk, as hundreds of people up and down the country and walk in memory of a loved one, raising vital funds for bereaved children, young people and their families.
Now in its second year, it couldn't be easier to join the Walk - take part solo, or as part of team - with your family or friends and don't forget to include the dog! Choose your route and distance, perhaps a collective 26 mile marathon or 26 laps of your local park. Each person/dog that registers (£5 per person/dog) will receive a Grief Encounter beanie hat, a packet of Forget-Me-Not seeds and a Forget-Me-Not memory sticker. You can also purchase a doggie bandana so they can 'go walkies' in style!
100% of the funds raised will go towards supporting bereaved children and young people who have experienced the death of someone close, and those impacted by grief. In the last year alone, over 50,000 children have experienced the death of a parent or sibling, with an additional 10,000 suffering grief as a direct result of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Demand on our free, professional services continues to grows, and so does the difficulty to fundraise in traditional ways. Our priority is to be able to continue offering the best support we can to all of those who need us, and we can't do that without your support.
Just £26 could fund a session on our free helpline, grieftalk, offering confidential and immediate grief support and advice, when someone needs it most. Walking in the Forget-Me-Not Walk has no minimum fundraising target, however, for every £26 you raise, you could fund the cost of a grieftalk session, providing essential emotional support for a grieving individual.
If you would like to join the hundreds of people across the UK walking for Grief Encounter, register today and help us reach even more bereaved children by raising as much as you can! https://www.griefencounter.org.uk/event/the-forget-me-not-walk/
