Story
Being out of touch with friends and family can be hugely detrimental to the well-being of those in later life. Here at MHA, we believe connection is fundamental to the happiness of each of our residents. This is why we are launching this very special campaign.
We are coming together to walk a combined 10 million steps this January. So if you can walk 100 steps or 100,000 steps. Every step is a step closer to keeping all residents in our 90 care homes connected with family and friends through Famileo.
Famileo Gazette is a personalised publication for our residents living in MHA care homes. Family and friends of a resident can use their smartphones, tablets, or computers to post messages and photos which are turned into a physical newspaper format for residents to read and keep. It is ideal for residents who struggle to keep in touch through new technology such as zoom.
Not only does Famileo make a difference to mum, but it also makes me feel I can include my mum in our lives in a way that is no longer practical in real life. She can experience things with us that realistically she can no longer manage in person. It is a way, in particular, of her keeping up with her grandchildren which is very important to our family.

Family and staff members have noticed vast improvements in the emotional well-being of residents with access to Famileo and we want to ensure every resident has access to this fantastic service.
Can you help us provide every resident in our care their very own family and friends gazette to provide reassurance, happiness, and comfort?
Please join our Footsteps for Famileo campaign, and pledge to walk some steps to help us reach our 10 million step target.
What would your fundraising help?
£45 would fund Famileo for all our residents in one care home for a month
£180 would fund Famileo for all residents in one of our care homes for four months
£540 would fund Famileo for all residents in one of our care homes for an entire year.
MHA provides award-winning care and support in our homes and schemes and your kind step pledge and fundraising, big or small, will truly help a person live later life well.
