Story
Our campaign
Manor House Development Trust have opened their kitchen doors in the Redmond Community Centre to run our free food delivery service. Our workers and volunteers are preparing, cooking, and delivering healthy and nutritious hot meals straight to some of the most vulnerable residents in North London, Woodberry Down.
These residents are now even more at risk because of the coronavirus epidemic. We're here to see they don't have to suffer unnecessarily.
How will this work?
Food is being cooked and prepared in our certified kitchen by professional kitchen chefs and volunteers. These tasty meals are then being sent on their way on cargo bikes and delivered by our non-contact volunteer couriers. No need for the residents to leave their front doors, we'll come to them.
Our volunteer couriers may be the only contact those who are isolated are speaking with while on lockdown. We have the unique opportunity to ask about their welfare and refer them to other local service providers who are still operating.
So, what does a donation mean for Manor House Development Trust and our food delivery services?
Right now, we are reaching 100 households, but we know they're many more residents in need. We need to raise £1,500 so we can reach as many as community members in need of our service right now. £5 can feed a family of 4! We cant do it alone. Give what you can. Your community needs you.
