Story
One in 10 people in the North East will be diagnosed with depression and one in 10 children aged between 5-16 have a diagnosable mental health problem.
Our Give a Quid campaign hopes to raise £30,000 to support our work across the North East to improve mental health.
The Foundation of Light uses the power of football to involve, educate and inspire young people and their families through award winning sport, education, employability and health and wellbeing programmes.
Many of the young people and adults we work with suffer from anxiety, depression or low self-esteem. We often hear stories about how they had considered suicide, struggled to leave the house due to severe anxiety or how they no longer had the confidence to live a normal life.
We want to do more to help these people and people like them. We want to give them a future to look forward to, and the skills to live happier and healthier lives.
Your support will make this possible. Your support will make a difference.
The Give a Quid campaign will culminate in a special Foundation of Light matchday at the Stadium of Light, when Sunderland AFC play Doncaster Rovers on 19th April.
