Story
Aerobility The British Disabled Flying Charity is launching The Spirit of Aviation Challenge, asking you to build, launch and film a plane. Then to upload it for judging by a uniquely qualified and specialist online panel on a weekly basis using #flyaerobility
The Spirit of Aviation is all about overcoming adversity, working together to take on a challenge just as the nation is having to do right now. By participating in this challenge and donating to Aerobility you will be supporting young people with disabilities who use aviation as a means of escaping the isolation they can feel on a year-round basis as well as the challenges they live with daily.
You can design anything from a paper plane, to a finely tuned paper and plastic straw fighter jet to something far more technical the skys the limit but all planes will be judged equally for their ability in the air as well as their style and design.
Anyone can get involved. The steps are:
1. Design and Build an aircraft out of whatever you can find in your house, put as much exciting artwork as you can onto your craft
2. Film yourself or your parent/guardian explaining your design and then testing how it flies
3. Post your videos to your social media using #flyaerobility
4. Do it again if you want to have another go
Top tip
Encourage friends, family and neighbours to get involved by uploading videos during construction, testing and flight phases so that they can follow progress .
