The Sindh Doctors Association UK responded to this emergency situation provided relief goods including food & ration supplies, tents, medicines, mosquito nets andorganisedfree medical camps etc. through its volunteer sister organisations and partner NGOs directly operating in the affected areas in Sindh and Balochistan.
Already spent £ 80,000 ( Rs 2 Crore ) in emergency operations.
The scale of the disaster is huge and the suffering continues. We are launching a renewed appeal to our friends, families and communities in the UK to come forward to help us tobuild 100 houses for flood victims.
Record-breaking and unprecedented rains and floods have hit Pakistan, affecting over 33 million people. Many have lost their homes, left with little or no belongings, desperately seeking safety on higher ground. Families have lost their homes, livelihoods, and in some cases loved ones. More than 1,200 people have been killed and at least 360 of these were children.
Pakistan floods facts:
The annual rainfall in Pakistan this year has been10 times higher than normal. One third of the country is underwater due to floods.Over 500,000 people are living in relief camps around the country. More than 1,000,000 houses are damaged in Sindh, Punjab and Balochistan provinces. Over 3,000 km of roads have been destroyed. Right now, after completionof Phase 1, Sindh Doctors Association UK aims to build 100 houses for flood victim families in District Mirpurkhas and Khairput Nathan Shah. These houses will be constructed with solid foundations to avoid any damage in similar future disasters.
We have selected 4 Villages to construct 100 houses with a Mosque and Primary school in each village. SDAUK will support those schools ongoing.
Terms of agreement:
1. Affected people will help us to build their houses.
2. Will reuse items from their damaged houses, like bricks, tier, gurders etc.
3. Local and permanent resident
4. SDAUK will own the land rights
5. Families will send their children to school built by SDAUK.
Houses will contain 1 bedroom, a bathroom, kitchen area and space for one additional room (incase they wish to build another room in the future) and garden space. We will provide safe clean water, solar plates for one fan and 4 bulbs.

School cost £ 5,000We raised funds for 16 houses at the AGM. The SDAUK will use their available funds to build 14 houses. In total, we have funds to build 30 houses.
We need to raise funds for
a) 70 more houses - Each house costing £2,000
b) 4 Mosques - £ 4,000 for each mosque in each village
c) 4 schools - £ 5,000 for each school in each village.

Update:
SDAUK has managed to collect in excess of £80,000 of which over Rs. 20 million have been made available on the ground for distribution of ration and clean drinking water, providing shelter with tents and mosquito nets, holding medical camps the affectees camps, providing items of clothing and footwear to men, women and children. SDAUK friends and volunteers have been working all over Sindh, like Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Larkano, Gambat/Khairpur, Dadu, Mehar, Hyderabad, Tando Mohammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Sanghar and Mirpurkhas districts. Also supported families in Jhal Magsi and Jaffarabad in Balochistan.
