Story
The Summer of 2018 saw the completion of the new classroom block (The Parry Building) following the receipt of a generous legacy. At that time 5 classrooms were fitted out on the ground floor but the upper floor was left empty due to lack of funds. In the picture (above) the ground floor rooms have doors and windows. The upper floor is an empty shell although low walls and rails on the veranda have been installed for safety.
Now, in 2023, 5 more classrooms are needed. The number of pupils has increased, the curriculum in Lower Secondary Schools requires a science lab, library, music and IT facilities. On a recent visit to Mombasa an agreement was reached with our builder for three new classrooms at a cost of £8000 each. He has already spoken to a generous friend who will now fund the other two rooms that we need.
The charity Trustees are now urgently seeking help to raise £24,000 that will enable these rooms to be completed this year. All major donations will be acknowledged by a plaque on a classroom wall and accredited on our website and Newsletter.
