Story
You have the whole of February to complete your challenge. You could run 50 miles over the month, do 50 star jumps a day, walk for 50 minutes a day - whatever you want! All you need to do is come up with a challenge based around the number 50 that suits your skills and complete it over the month of February. All in aid of single parent families!
Were asking everyone taking part to aim to raise £50. To help you achieve that target, not only will you have the support of the Gingerbread fundraising staff, but - if youd like - you can join our Facebook group to share tips and tricks with your fellow participants.
Why Fifty?
2020 saw the 50th anniversary of the first ever Gingerbread group. Gingerbread peer support groups were set up to combat the loneliness that single parents can feel. From there, a whole community of single parents was sparked, with volunteers across the country forming their own support groups for single parents. Now, theres a network of Gingerbread peer support groups across England and Wales, run entirely by volunteers and supported by Gingerbread.
Weve launched the #FitInFifty challenge to celebrate 50 years of Gingerbread groups and our community of single parents and to help us all keep up with those fitness new years resolutions!
