For many years the congregation of First Omagh has supported the Christian work in the Louden Mission Station, Embangweni, Malawi. In the Summer of 2025 a team from First Omagh will be travelling to Embangweni to continue this long-standing partnership, bringing practical support and encouragement to the community. While we are in Embangweni, we will be involved in a range of projects to support the Embangweni community that will make a difference.
To raise funds for the mission trip several events are being organised, which include a Coffee Morning and Cyclothon on Saturday 22 March and a Treasure Hunt on Friday 9th May.
During the coffee morning the five members of the mission team will cycle the equivalent distance (140 miles) from Lilongwe Airport to Louden Mission Station on static bikes on the Rowan Hall stage. That works out at approximately 28 miles per person!
To encourage us on our way we would love it if you would consider sponsoring our cyclothon by making a donation of £1 per cyclist – a total of £5 sponsorship. The money raised will go a long way to support projects at Louden Mission Station schools, churches, hospital and the local community.
The Just Giving page will not charge additional fees as we are a registered charity and we will be able to claim Gift Aid on donations.
The team members are funding their own transport and accommodation costs. All funds raised will go directly towards the projects and any help you can give would be gratefully appreciated.
