Story

Filey Sea Cadets offers young individuals an incredible opportunity to engage in various waterborne activities, including power boating, sailing, and rowing. However, to sustain and enhance these activities, we are facing an urgent need. Our current outboard engines, which have faithfully served us for over 30 years, are no longer suitable for their intended purpose. Hence, we require two new outboard engines to replace them promptly.

Moreover, in our pursuit of broadening our fleet and ensuring the utmost safety, Filey Sea Cadets aspires to acquire a versatile safety boat known as the 'Jaffa,' a brand new RigiFlex NewMatic safety boat. This addition will allow us to expand our capabilities and provide a more comprehensive safety measure for our participants.

Sponsored Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge

On Tuesday 4th July 2023, volunteers, parents and supporters of Filey Sea Cadets will undertake the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, which will be a sponsored event in support of our fundraising efforts.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is a thrilling 24-mile (38.6km) round trip that encompasses a total ascent of 1585m (5200ft), conquering the iconic peaks of Pen-y-ghent (694 meters), Whernside (736 meters), and Ingleborough (723 meters), all within a remarkable time limit of under 12 hours. These majestic hills are an integral part of the Pennine range, encircling the head of the picturesque River Ribble Valley in the breathtaking Yorkshire Dales National Park.

----------

Your support in helping us procure the new outboard engines and the 'Jaffa' safety boat will enable Filey Sea Cadets to continue offering remarkable waterborne experiences while ensuring the utmost safety for the young individuals we serve.
