Story
For four decades, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio (RMHC) has been Keeping families close at the Columbus Ronald McDonald House. From its beginnings as a grassroots movement established by a partnership between volunteers and local McDonalds Owner/Operators, RMHC of Central Ohio continues to serve over 4,500 families a year in their deepest time of need. One way we are able to continue to support these families are through a variety of fundraising events over the year, including this one that is near and dear to our heart, Family Golf at Topgolf.
This event, originally titled junior golf, was founded by Joe Mortellaro in the hopes to create an event that helped to instill a love of philanthropy and the game of golf to junior golfers at an early age. Over the years, more and more golfers, families, and friends have looked to participate, helping this event evolve into what it is now, our Family Golf event at TopGolf Columbus.
Over the months leading up to our October 15 event at TopGolf, teams of six will work together and find ways to raise money for families at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio. Through a variety of peer-to-peer fundraising efforts, teams are encouraged to raise a minimum of $600 and are able to jumpstart that goal through an initial sign-up donation of $100. Fundraising is tracked leading up to the event and encouraged through a variety of resources brought to you by RMHC - Central Ohio, which will help you reach your goal.
On October 15, these teams can celebrate their philanthropic efforts with a day of fun at TopGolf Columbus. On October 15, teams will enjoy three hours of golf time in one the 34 bays at TopGolf, a delicious lunch buffet provided by TopGolf, and get the chance to participate in both a silent auction and raffle filled with exciting prizes fun for the whole family. If you are fueled by a competitive aspect....don't worry...we award the top three fundraising teams with a special prize at the end of the event. The best part is all dollars funded by these teams go back to support the over 4,500 families that are supported each year by the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio.
