Story
Feel Good young people are hiking 50km and climbing the three peaks of Yorkshire to get the Regenerate 20 peak challenge off to a flying start.
Feel Good employs young people as baristas, training them and equipping them with essential workplace skills they need to succeed. Alongside this, they receive mentoring, to help them build on their skills and make plans for their future.
Our new shop is allowing us to double the number of young people currently employed on our mobile coffee carts.
However, with this growth, we need to employ a 2nd mentor to support our team.
Mentoring is an essential aspect of young people’s employment with us; it supports them with their wellbeing, work on personal goals, as well as create plans and identify steps they need to take to reach their professional aspirations too.
Having a key figure there to support them has proven to have such a positive impact on their development, with 100% of young people who graduated from us last year showing improvement in self management and their ability to plan.
Through their mentoring, young people have been able to access further opportunities such as training, counselling getting back into education, which have helped them immensely with their development to ensure long term success long after they leave us.
To be able to provide this mentor, we’re asking generous people to help us as we enter our final push to get our shop open and young people on board.
- Just £20 will fund a 1-1 session with our new mentor
- £1000 funds a whole course of mentoring for a young person throughout their year of employment with us!
If we hit our target we will successfully be able to reach our goal of 40 new young people employed and supported through whatever challenges and barriers they are facing.
