Story

The Hitchin Christmas Hamper Appeal - now in its 6th year

Please note the team have started purchasing vouchers and gifts to support our local families this Christmas.

This fund will remain open as monies raised will be used to continue to support vulnerable families now and through into 2021.

Please do continue to support us as we expect that more and more people will be made redundant, furloughed or had their hours reduced and will need our help.

Last year the appeal supported local families and individuals with a food hamper filled with everything needed for a festive feast, plus extra store cupboard essentials and seasonal treats. We delivered 151 hampers in total including gifts for 284 children!

This year Covid 19 has changed the way the Hamper Appeal will look. Instead of asking for food donations this year we need to raise funds to be able to provide a supermarket voucher to families so they can buy the Christmas food essentials. We also need to buy gifts for the children, as the usual way we collect gifts cannot happen this year.

Please donate to support your community at Christmas.

£1 - Buys a selection box of a child

£5 - Buys a Xmas Pud and Minces pies

£10 - Buys a gift for a child.

The Christmas Hamper Team is made up of: Rotary Club of Tilehouse, Hitchin Volunteer Army, Zeo Church, Round Table, Hitchin Partnership CIO, Hitchin Youth Trust, Hitchin Foodbank, Salvation Army of Stotfold."
