At the Big Help Project we collect food, to save if from going to waste, from supermarkets and food manufacturers that would otherwise go to landfill. This food is part of our Food Clubs.
Each of our Food Clubs have 100 members whereby they pay £3.50 per week and choose a selection of food differing in value. Each weekly shop of £3.50 will provide food that would normally cost in the region of £15 to £20.
Our Feed a Family campaign is based around giving people dignity, respect and choice. Dignity and respect not having to accept foodbank parcels of set items and amount. Choice to chose their own food other than being giving a food parcel through our foodbank.
For the cost of a cup of coffee (£3.50) or by giving up one cup of coffee a week, people could feed a family for a week. That is just £15 a month or £182 a year!!
Big Help Project currently has number of Food Club venues and growing - across the Mersey region. We are expanding these with help and support from local communities and businesses. Please see our social media pages for more details on all our Food Clubs including dates and times.
