Families of ill and injured children face incredible burdens including missed work and school, loss of income, increased expenses and separation from loved ones. Housing is the last thing parents should have to worry about when their child is sick or injured. Thats why FedExFamilyHouse made a promise when they opened in 2010 that this will be a place of hope and healing for out-of-town families of Le Bonheur Childrens Hospital patients. It costs $100 to provide a family a one night stay at FedExFamilyHouse. Many families stay at the house much longer as their child waits on a heart transplant or recovers from a car accident. Please donate today to provide a free, comfortable place to rest for every family who travels a long distance to Le Bonheur.
At FedEx Freight, the Southeast Region is known for a couple of things their competitive spirit and their giving hearts. In mid-2019, team members committed to raising $50,000 in five years for FedExFamilyHouse. Since, area team members and families have already stepped up to provide donations, meals in the months of August and September 2020, and multiple shipments of packaged food for the FedExFamilyHouse pantry.
The FedEx Freight Southeast Region is proud to make a difference in the lives of these children and their families. Regional VP Doak Slay sums it up best, Being a parent and now a grandparent, I find great comfort in knowing there are places like Le Bonheur and FedExFamilyHouse to help our children and provide their families a home away from home.
