Story
Over the last 21 years we have grown from a small service in a portacabin at the old St Lukes Cancer Centre in Guildford, to now providing over 8,000 sessions every year at our Centre at St Lukes Cancer Centre. We have 8 dedicated therapy rooms, a creative space room, therapy garden and family support cabin all supported by over 150 dedicated volunteers
The Fountain Centres vision is to provide the highest quality information, support, complementary therapies and emotional supports to those affected by cancer in Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire. We aim to respond and anticipate the needs of cancer patients, develop services accordingly and be recognised as the leading organisation within its field.
Evidence suggests that by 2030 1 in 2 people will have a cancer diagnosis at some point in their life. Cancer treatment is improving; however, we know that a diagnosis of cancer can have a massive impact not only on the patient but their family too. So here at the Fountain Centre we cannot stand still, we need to continue to develop our services to meet the ever changing needs of cancer patients locally. It is our dream to acquire land where we can build a small day retreat space for our patients. This may be somewhat of a pipe dream but who would have thought 21 years ago, that we would have come to where we are now?
Each year we have to raise £200,000 to continue our services. a massive part of that is our fundraising events. Due to Covid, we are unable to orgnaise any face to face events and will be relying on donations from our virtual events as well as others raising money for us. Any support you can give us is greatly appreciated.
