Story
“No matter your situation, they are there to help and continue to support you and express their concern for your well-being and that of your children. They have helped me transition from victim to survivor and helped me become stable in my new home”
Please join us on October 19, 2024, for Family and Community Resource’s Annual 5K Walk for Survivor Safety & Community Cultural Fair!
Domestic violence is a silent epidemic that impacts every community, race, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status. On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States, with about 1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men experiencing this abuse. But domestic violence is more than just physical, it involves psychological, emotional, and economic control and manipulation. Whatever form the abuse takes, it leaves a lasting impact on the survivors. That is where the help FCR provides comes in.
FCR provides care to thousands of survivors every year, with dedicated advocates connecting survivors with resources, providing emotional support and empowering survivors to reclaim their lives. Over the past 3 years we have raised over $500,000 to support our life-saving work, but the need continues to outpace the resources available. We need your support to end the cycle of violence and create a just, equitable, and safe society where everyone is treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.
