Story
The Covid-19 pandemic is creating unprecedented challenges during this time. FareShare North East is now at the centre of an emergency operation to get food out to charities and community groups that support vulnerable people in society.
Many of the charities we support, provide communal meals which could be forced to close in the event of a lockdown. FareShare North East are doing everything we can to ensure that food is still available to those who need it, but we need your help. We are urgently seeking donations from the public to help support and expand our emergency operations.
FareShare North East currently supports 234 different frontline organisations that support vulnerable people. This number has increased from 176 from March alone and we anticipate an increasing demand for our service, particularly with the closures of schools, workplaces and public spaces. Due to the increase in organisations we support, this means there is an additional fuel cost of over £700 per month.
We know many of you are being forced to work from home at the moment and your hard work is appreciated by all. We also know that you wont be using your car very much at the moment. Could you spare some of the money you're saving on fuel to help us support vulnerable people? If you could give just half of what you spend on fuel per month, you could be helping hundreds of people who are in desperate need of food.
