Story
Bath City FC Foundation, the clubs official charity, provide football coaching and wellbeing support for local communities across Bath. The power of Bath City FC as a community club and football in general enables us to engage with a wide cross section of people and make a positive impact on thousands of people's physical and mental well-being each year.
This includes 28 sessions a week catering for children, teenagers, men, women and the over-60’s. Last year we worked with 2,280 children and 77 adults between 4-94 years helping people to enjoy better health and support from our experienced team of sports coaches and volunteers. The Foundation also runs specialist sessions for people supported by other local charities.
Under the Family Stand at Twerton Park are some hidden spaces we plan to refurbish as a new base for the Foundation to co-ordinate community activities, host meetings, store our kit safely, and work to expand the reach of the charity in the future.
At our Foundation and Family game on 11th November we are launching a £6,000 appeal to raise funds for carpentry, electrical servicing, flooring works, paint and contribute towards our running costs. This will provide us with a new home for 2024 and beyond.
Thanks to generous local sponsors like St John's Foundation, Bath Recreation, Meshii, N3 Designs and Bath and Wiltshire Parent Magazine we have already raised some of the funds required but we need your help to get us over the line and make it happen.
Following on from the recent news that the 3G pitch development is going ahead, this refurbishment will provide the perfect location for the charity to run our weekly, community sessions for local people such as Walking Football and Man vs Fat at Twerton Park.
As part of the refurbishment we also want to give the Family Stand a new lick of paint so we've asked a group of volunteers to come and help us strip the orange paint off the inside of the stand, paint black and white stripes and put up new signs to thank the sponsors.
We are hoping to complete the work in time for the Braintree game on 13th January and get 2024 off to a flying start!
