Story
At Christmas one of the most magical things is seeing the wonder and joy on children's faces when they wake on Christmas morning.
However, we know families are struggling to keep the magic of Christmas alive. They’re having to make impossible decisions, such as whether to heat their home, buy food and essentials or a present for their children.
Parents have told us that because they can’t afford to buy their children a present, or they’ve had to give them something very practical like bedding or school books, they’re worried their children won’t believe in Santa anymore or might think they’ve done something wrong when he doesn’t come.
We believe every child should have one thing to open on Christmas Day. By being part of our Toy Appeal, you can give an extra special gift that will bring Christmas cheer to a child and take the pressure off a family who are going through a tough time.
Being part of our annual Toy Appeal is a great way to help make Christmas magic for the children, young people and families we work with.
Each year, we receive requests from our services for toys that they can give to the families they support. Over the past three years, we have distributed over 30,000 presents to children and young people across the country.
Every year, dozens of organisations take part to collect and distribute important gifts. For many of the children, the present they receive will be extra special as it might be the only one they’ll open this Christmas.
