Video of our young peoples very own collective 30K in a Day! Sponsored Walk around Linacre Reservoir on the 30th June. We would like to give a huge thank you to Simpatico Digital for supporting a local charity by offering to film and edit this for us free of charge!
Information about the 30K in a Day! hike in August:
On the 5th May we announced our BIG fundraising event 30k in a Day! Asking people to help us support children and young people like Phoenix.
And to be a part of Fairplay's 30th Anniversary Year as we celebrate supporting hundreds of children and young people with disabilities!
On the 30th of June our young people took part in their very own 30k in a Day! event, smashing their collective goal of walking 30 kilometres around Linacre Reservoir while raising money for their charity!
The 30K in a day sponsored walk will involve up to 15 staff and supporters taking place on Friday the 19th of August around beautiful Buttermere in the Lake District. Although we will be fortunate enough to take in some stunning scenery, this gruelling 18.5 miles walk will include hiking up and reaching the summit of 7 mountains!! We will be tackling: Red Pike, White Pike, Pillar, Hay Stacks, Seat, High Crag and High Stile - we'll reach 892m elevation at our highest point... it's not going to be easy work but considering the difficulties some of the families that we support face, it seems like a walk in the park.
How you can get involved:
There are limited spaces available for businesses and individuals to join us on the day! You must be able to gain sponsorship for the event and advertise that you are taking part in this event.
Participants will receive a Fairplay t-shirt, and their business / personal pages will receive a shout out on our website, all of our socials and in our next newsletter! Along with receiving a personal thank you from our children and young people and the opportunity to have up to 12 of their staff come down and experience our enterprise café for a free afternoon tea meet and great with our young people as an opportunity to relax, this would also be a photo opportunity and a way to show your involvement with a local charity in your community. You would also be invited to our 30th anniversary party on the 24th of September, which is a brilliant celebration and networking event with our other business partners!
For more information on how to take part in the event please contact Fairplay via our email office@fair-play.co.uk or give us a call on 01246 203963
Some information about what we do here at Fairplay:
Fairplay is a charity organisation based in Chesterfield, we support children and young people with disabilities and additional needs, and their families, across North Derbyshire.
We offer a wide range of services to meet the needs of families. We offer support to children and young people, aged 0-30, and to parents and siblings. We run play schemes and Saturday clubs for children, youth clubs, activity days, themed groups, and independent living groups for young people, and parent support groups and family trips for parents and siblings.
At Fairplay we provide a home based care service for children with complex health care needs that may be life-threatening or life-limiting. We provide a child-centred flexible service that meets the needs of the child and their family.
Fairplay gives families the support that they need, and gives opportunities to take part in positive experiences that make a real difference to their lives. We enable parents to have valuable respite including 24 hour care and we give children and young people the opportunity to develop a wide range of life skills.
Fairplay would not still be open if we did not continue to receive generous donations from others!
Any and all support is greatly appreciated! <3
Thank you for taking the time to read this, we hope you deem our cause worthy because we sure think it is!
