St Andrews First Aid is challenging you to take part in our firewalk to help raise funds that will support our volunteer First Aiders to continue to deliver life saving training and support in communities across Scotland.
This December our amazing supporters will be taking part in our very first Firewalk hosted by Blaze The Firewalk Experts.
Is it real fire? Yes, burning at an average temperature of 1236 degrees Fahrenheit! To put it into perspective:
paper combusts at 451 degrees Fahrenheit, aluminium melts at 1100 degrees Fahrenheit!
Walkers brave enough to accept the challenge will be helping us to fund activities like our new Ready for Life programme. The programme gives young people in secondary schools throughout the country who are out with normal attainment levels, the opportunity to leave school with a recognised certification in First Aid and First Aid for Mental Health. This is a useful addition to a CV, helping to improve employability opportunities and life chances.
