Story
This Christmas, you have the power to make a real difference. Our "Feed a Friend for a Fiver" campaign is back to bring much-needed festive cheer to vulnerable and homeless people across the North East.
The People’s Kitchen has been a lifeline to many, and the need for our services has never been greater. Every day, our dedicated team of over 300 volunteers cooks, serves, and provides support, offering more than just a meal—a space where people can find warmth, friendship, and compassion.
As the cost of living rises, so does the demand for our help. We now serve between 250 and 300 meals daily, with Christmas Day being no exception. For many of our Friends, the hot meal we provide is their only meal of the day.
We rely solely on the generosity of our community. With no government funding and entirely volunteer-led, we depend on donations of food, funds, and time to keep the kitchen running.
For just £5, you can provide a hot Christmas dinner to someone who might otherwise go without, and help us serve many more meals throughout the harsh winter months.
Your contribution does more than feed someone—it offers them a moment of comfort and connection. For some, The People's Kitchen is more than just a place to eat—it's a safe space where they can find companionship and access to vital support services like welfare, medical aid, and housing advice.
We understand that this year has been challenging for many, but even a small donation can make a massive difference. Every pound donated helps keep someone warm, nourished, and reassured that they are not alone this Christmas.
Together, let’s spread warmth, friendship, and hope across the North East.
