Story
Eye to Eye is our annual fundraising walk which gives the opportunity for patients, their loved ones, staff, researchers and supporters to come together to show their thanks to Moorfields for the care they give.
Every 15 minutes someone in the UK starts to lose their sight
That's why we ask our walkers to take on 5 or 15 miles on Sunday 5 March 2023. The routes explore historic London and pass the site of Oriel, the new integrated site for Moorfields Eye Hospital and the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, due to open in 2026-27 in St Pancras.
And for those supporters who want to make a difference closer to home, we also have My Eye to Eye where participants will be walking, riding or running their routes from their own doorsteps all over the UK between 4-5 March.
In 2021-22, we were able to invest over £6 million to support research, innovation in patient care, staff wellbeing and training at Moorfields Eye Hospital and the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology.
We've seen advances in research we're funding including into inherited eye diseases and use of AI in eye health. We've also seen the benefits to patients wellbeing with our support of the counselling service, giving children and their families emotional help.
But we can only achieve this with the help of our fab fundraisers and those that kindly sponsor them.
So dig deep today, show your support to #TeamMoorfields and donate if you can. Because people's sight matters.
