Story
It's a sad fact that members of the LGBT+ community live with disproportionately high levels of mental health conditions. Many individuals avoid accessing mainstream health services for fear of discrimination which leads to issues going untreated and deteriorating over time. But you can help.
The funds #execrcise4elop generates will enable us to continue and improve our life-changing and life-saving work. As an LGBT+ mental health & wellbeing charity, we provide a range of mental health crisis prevention, mental health workshops & low-cost counselling services to LGBT+ people, plus a range of support groups, befriending, youth and LGBT+ family projects, along with community events and activities all offered in a safe and supportive environment for members of the community.
Take part in #exercise4elop and simply set yourself a challenge during 2024. Be as serious/creative as you wish. Exercise comes in many forms and not all forms are physical!
You can fundraise by walking, jogging or running, dance or sing, or do a range of exercises - hop or skip or do sit ups and push ups each day, take virtual exercise classes. Exercising your brain and creativity counts too so you could draw a picture a day for a month (remember to share on socials!) or do crosswords a day for how ever long you can muster. The possibilities with mind and body exercising are endless!
FOLLOW THESE FIVE STEPS TO TAKE PART:
1. Set yourself a challenge that begins ANYTIME during 2024.
2. Create a fundraising page by clicking the orange Start fundraising button, then selecting the most relevant category. Fill in the page and click Create your page. You're ready to go!
3. Get social: promote your fundraising on social media and keep people updated by posting photos and videos. Remember to hashtag #exercise4elop and #elop!
4. Fundraise: it's really important to ask people to sponsor you for your efforts. Donations can be made through your own JustGiving page. If you meet your target early, why not increase it to encourage more donations?!
5. Challenge your friends: Tag your friends and family in your social media posts, challenging them to take part too!
