Houston Community College is launching the Endowed Chairs for Teaching and Learning Excellence program. The program is designed to recognize and promote academic excellence at the HCC through honoring distinguished faculty and student support professionals. Recipients of the Endowed Chair awards will receive $5,000 to fund innovative projects designed to improve the student learning experience at HCC in their teaching or interaction with students.

The Ewen Family Endowed Chair for Teaching and Learning Excellence will be HCC's first named Teaching and Learning Excellence Chair. Other donors, over time, will endow additional chairs.

In contrast to endowed chair programs at four-year institutions that aim to attract preeminent researchers, this program recognizes and supports HCC faculty and student support professionals by providing resources needed to advance instruction and student support. In its inaugural year of 2022-2023, five faculty or student support professionals will be selected to receive these awards.

We invite you to support the Ewen Family Endowed Chair for Teaching and Learning Excellence. Your gift toward our initial goal of $250,000 will allow the Endowed Chair fund to grow and eventually support additional awards each year.
