Story
Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, National Domestic Violence Hotline Advocates have heard from thousands of survivors about how abusive partners are using the stress, isolation, and financial strain of this uncertain time to further control and abuse.
Even when the immediate threat of this virus is over, the long-term effects on survivors' health, safety, and financial security must be a priority. No matter what happens, The Hotline will be there every step of the way with emotional support, customized safety planning, and referrals to local resources.
Every survivor's unique journey takes time, planning, and encouragement. You can help build a path to safety for survivors across the United States and honor their courage and strength by signing up to be a Hotline fundraiser.
Some of what survivors are saying about The Hotline:
Y'all are amazing and got me through this whole process. From helping me realize that what I was experiencing is not okay, to the resources that have been great support along the way. I called you tonight on the verge of an anxiety attack, and now I feel really confident about my decision.
You have been so helpful! I am so thankful this service exists. I truly believe it saved my life. I called The Hotline when I first left my abuser. It was the first of many steps I took to get free.
Calls and chats to The Hotline were up 12% last quarter and the need is growing. Every dollar raised makes a big difference. Thank you for your support!
