Story
A little space that became quiet overtime, became invigorated post lockdown when funding was awarded by Newham Council the local community brought together their skills to create a garden from scratch. Interior design skills from Nick, mathematical craftsmanship from Tom, persistent concrete digger Rosie, artist Dominique, King waterer Fredrick, hardworking Tom, James and Joy and many more hands helped to create what you see today. Our efforts got as an RHS new garden award and Raj and others became famous with their picture taken for an article, which mentioned the garden and qouted a trustee in the National Newspaper The Guardian! AUBERGINES were the centre stage vegetable last year .....getting the most "likes". The energy workshop was a great hit and every open day sees neighbours meeting for the first time after 20 years.
We are fundraising to keep your local Manor Park Community Garden open and accessible to everyone. We are raising money so that we can reach more people, host workshops and guided gardening sessions and engage with schools to connect more of Manor Park with the green wonders of this little space.
We want to:
- Reach more people,
-Pay for two garden hosts (mid-week/weekend)
-Redesign mural with school children
-become self-reliant (water, compost)
