The Race to the Top has received a generous challenge grant from John Rosenberg and Susan Bennett, in memory of beloved former mentor and board president Paul Rosenberg, John's brother. Contributions to the Race have reached $5000, and they have added $1000 to the total. Thank you John and Susan, and all the supporters who helped us reach that first milestone!
Tremendous thanks to John and Susan, and the whole Rosenberg family.
Children who love to read do better academically, stay in school longer, and have a better chance at a good life when they grow up.
Everybody Wins! Vermont matches community volunteers one-on-one with schoolchildren to read once a week at school. In the years of the COVID pandemic, children have read with their mentors in all sorts of ways: remotely, with masks, even outdoors! Parents called this safe, caring relationship built around language and books "a gift in a dark time."
