Story
The Cardiology Kids was created by a collaboration between Caroline May (Mum to Arthur, a myocarditis survivor), Dr Aaron Bell (Head of Service for Paediatric Cardiology) and the Evelina Fundraising Team.
It's goal is to bring together 150 Cardiology families to raise £150,000 for the Cardiology Team as a legacy of the 150th birthday of the Evelina London Children's Hospital. £150,000 is a massive target: with 150 families on board, we can achieve it easily!
The money raised by The Cardiology Kids goes straight into the 'Children's Heart Fund' at the Evelina and it is ring-fenced specifically for Cardiology care priority needs under the direction of Dr Bell. Basically, it hits the NHS front line where it makes a difference and helps fund the medical equipment for children with poorly hearts.
Are you the parent of an Evelina Cardiology Kid? If you want to be part of this amazing group supporting the wonderful team of Cardiologists who save and transform our children's lives, then please get in touch. Email info@supportevelina.org.uk and the Fundraising Team can put you in touch with Caroline directly or search 'The Cardiology Kids' on Facebook for our group.
The Cardiology Kids recognises that every family's heart journey is a different one - for some it's from birth or even before, for some it is life long or life limiting, for others it is a chapter in their life. It may require surgery but it might not. Sadly, some lose their battles. Every child's journey is recognised and valued.
The Cardiology Kids encourages creative ways of fundraising by children, for children and is building a small group of fundraising coaches who have already run events / fundraised for the Cardiology team with the intention of being there to support other families in their fundraising journeys.
We want to recognise and celebrate the fundraising achievements of the Cardiology families and very soon there will be a wall dedicated to The Cardiology Kids in the new Cardiology Outpatients area! How amazing is that! Spread the word & together let's make a difference xx
