Story
In 2022 CAEE joined forces with charity the Good Company Surrey (who run foodbanks in and around Epsom & Ewell, charity no 1197493), to run a new Energy Support Scheme for winter 2022/23.
That scheme was fantastically well supported by local people and we thank everyone who contributed.
Unfortunately, the challenging cost of living crisis has not abated and we are therefore continuing the E&E Energy Support Scheme for the winter of 2023/24. Many people still struggle to pay their energy bills due to high cost of gas and electricity and increased financial pressures.
Through the E&E Energy Support Scheme, CAEE and the Good Company Surrey will be able to offer initial crisis funds towards bills, free advice about energy saving measures that can reduce costs in the longer term. If appropriate, we can also offer further support for example through provision of energy efficient appliances. Over 220 families benefited from the 2022/23 scheme and many clients found the service invaluable:
Thank you so much for your kindness and giving me really useful information about the cost of energy and how to reduce usage and keep warm and safe this winter, which like many people has been scaring the life out of me.
If you are able to, please donate to the fund to help support those who are struggling. The average donation to the 2022/23 campaign was £240 but we welcome any donation, big or small.
Funds will be split 50/50 between CAEE and Good Company. Clients can access the service through either charity. Further information and contact details can be found on our websites:
