Located in the heart of Balham, Endlesham Hall provides a much-needed safe and affordable space for community activities, welcoming people from all walks of life to connect and enjoy shared experiences, build new skills, find a sense of belonging and thrive together.

The hall supports many local groups and organisations and is an incredible resource for the whole community.

Unfortunately, our ageing building is no longer fit for purpose

From a leaking roof to failing heating system, the 1930s hall desperately needs major repair work throughout. While we are doing our best to stay open, it’s only a matter of time before we run out of resources for its upkeep.

With a chronic shortage of community facilities facing our city, the need for spaces like ours is greater than ever. To save this valuable community resource, we have to act now.

We are investing in our community by creating a new purpose-built facility that is modern, sustainable and will serve local people for generations to come

In a nutshell, the new Endlesham Hall will provide:

With improved accessibility and a smart, flexible layout, the new hall will suit a wide range of activities and better meet the considerable demand so more local people can benefit from the opportunities it offers.

🏠 Affordable homes for young adults

Above the community space, high-quality rental apartments will give young people a secure base from which to branch out on their life's journey. The opportunity for creative community living will help to reduce loneliness and promote well-being.

🌿 Green outdoor space

The existing concrete playground will transform into a vibrant community garden - a haven for visitors, residents and nature alike. Green walls and a green roof on the main hall will help reduce the building's carbon footprint. Special bricks for bees and nesting birds will offer a sanctuary for wildlife.
