Story
Your gift to the ABA Commission on Domestic & Sexual Violence (CDSV) advances systemic reform and improves access to legal services, increasing victim safety. Domestic and sexual violence are on the rise during the pandemic, while at the same time access to services and remedies has been deeply complicated by COVID-related restrictions. COVID-19 and stay-at-home orders have created new obstacles for victims seeking access to social services and courts. CDSV is a national leader in the field and trains lawyers on protection orders, virtual litigation, and trauma-informed practices for serving vulnerable & marginalized communities and provides free resources to help survivors stay safe.
The [training] may have been the BEST trial prep I could have had in the two days preceding my trial. I was able to show my client that I finally really GOT what was happening in this case, in a way I dont think I had fully grasped in advance. It changed my entire legal strategy and arguments before the Judge and may have made a significant difference in the reason I won the case.
