Story
A 7.8 magnitude earthquake across south-eastern Turkey and north-western Syria resulted in a three-month state of emergency being declared in Turkey. In their latest statement, the Disaster Emergency Committee reported that 56,000 people lost their lives, with over 18 million people in urgent need of shelter, food and medical aid.
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), the death toll is expected to continue rising. 240,000 buildings have been destroyed, with millions of pounds worth of damage to central infrastructure leaving homes uninhabitable and hospitals compromised.
The Amir Khan Foundation has partnered with One Family Global in support of Turkish Red Crescent to raise vital funds to support the critical relief and rescue effort.
Currently, the Turkish Red Crescent is on the ground in the 10 provinces that have been worst-hit, leaving survivors without shelter or food in Kahramanmaraş, Adıyaman, Kilis, Şanlıurfa, Diyarbakır, Adana, Osmaniye, Gaziantep, Malatya and Hatay.
Your donation can help provide critical relief supplies, as survivors are subjected to freezing winter temperatures without shelter, food or access to basic hygiene supplies. As rescuers continue to look for survivors and battle to get critical supplies on the ground, now is the time to act by pledging your donation today to help us save lives and help those in critical need of our support.
