Organised by The Hamlet Charity

‘’Families need our support now more than ever. The uncertain financial climate in the UK and increasing pressure on public services means that we are a lifeline for many people who would otherwise not have access to the opportunities they deserve."

Story

Over the last 50 years, we have never given up trying to make sure our children, young people and adults are happy and we have seen many special ‘firsts’ over the years.

The adults at The Hamlet Centre on Ella Road are taking on a new challenge: we are walking from The Hamlet to The London Eye…that’s 112 miles! While we are not actually walking there (we’re not that ambitious!), the Hamlet-users and staff will be covering the distance of 112 miles by going on sponsored walks around Norwich.

Any money raised will go directly back to the supporting the service-users at Ella Road and providing unique opportunities for them. We would love to fund some additional equipment for our Sensory Room, this would benefit our complex need students who rely on sensory stimulation and may need a relaxing environment to retreat to. Equipment like switch-activated toys, projectors and light boxes allow exploration of sensory experiences and aids communication.

We will be updating the social media with progress photos of where we have been walking, and how far along the journey we are.

We’d all really appreciate any donations as you follow along with us on our journey to The London Eye!
