Eilidh's London Marathon

Eilidh is taking on the London Marathon to raise money for Strathmore Community Rugby Trust

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·

Story

A whopping 840,318 people applied for a ballot spot in the TCS London Marathon 2025, including my daughters and me. We applied on a whim, certain that none of us would secure a place. How wrong was I! Against the odds, I was the one to earn a coveted spot, and over the last six months, I’ve been training hard for what may be the toughest challenge of my life. On 27th April 2025, I will be running the TCS London Marathon.

What makes this journey even more special is my decision to run in aid of Strathmore Community Rugby Trust, an organisation deeply connected to my family and our shared love of sport. Rugby has always been a passion of mine, and I’m thrilled that my son and daughter are carrying on that enthusiasm as active participants in the Trust’s work. Strathmore Community Rugby Trust not only supports their development in the game but also plays a crucial role in empowering our local community through resources, support, and opportunities for people of all ages

Having my family cheering me on and feeling the strength of running for something bigger than myself has brought an incredible energy to this journey. I feel truly privileged to take part in this iconic event and can’t wait to make every mile count—for myself, for Strathmore Community Rugby Trust, and for everyone supporting me along the way

About the charity

Strathmore Community Rugby Trust was established on 1 June 2017. We are a charitable organisation (Scottish Registered Charity SC047475) which believes rugby has the power to enhance people’s lives. We aim to instil the rugby ethos into participants, coaches and volunteers of all ages so they can develop and enjoy the physical and mental health benefits of rugby, play an active part in their local community and have a lifelong involvement in rugby.
