Story
Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. (Nelson Mandela)
Christian schools in Burkina Faso provide quality education for the poorest and most vulnerable sector of society. The school we support is recognised as a top school in the region.
It has over 500 local children altogether in the primary and secondary schools, and in 2024 hopes to open a kindergarten. On top of this, it also provides free places to children of families displaced by the insecurity in the region.
It is run by the national church, but is open to all, regardless of religion, race, or sex. It offers hope for the future to marginalised families, through academic rigour and the transforming grace of the gospel of Christ.
APT subsidises the school running costs to ensure its life-changing impact to future generations. In particular, this support will be used to:
* Subsidise poor students school fees.
* Ensure pupils receive a meal at midday.
This support costs us about £5,000/year. This is about £10/pupil/year to help ensure a quality education for the poorest.
We also aim to help with additional infrastructure needs when our resources allow.
Thank you for any help you can give.
