Colleagues from The Macallan and The Glenrothes Distilleries are stepping out together on the first Speyside Stride. This walking challenge takes place on the paths network close to both distilleries on Monday 22nd July with participants challenged to walk seven or 15 miles, or be part of the planning & support team. The walk concludes at The Macallan Distillery where colleagues will have the chance to celebrate their achievements.
The beneficiaries will be two charities which operate services that help fight poverty and support families in Moray.
MFR Cash For Kids Hands-On Art Project - Dedicated therapeutic art classes for children who are disengaged with school for a variety of reasons. Some are being bullied, others are dealing with anxiety, some have been bereaved, are autistic or living with a disability. Classes run during term time, with each child gifted a bag of art materials allowing them to continue their work at home. Money raised will enable the project to extend beyond Elgin, covering transport costs, enabling more children to benefit from the service.

Moray Food Plus The Bosie – A family centre in Elgin that works with all sectors of the community – from pre-school children to retired adults - to increase food knowledge and cooking skills, including menu planning and batch cooking. This is especially important for people experiencing food insecurity. The team run parenting groups, supper clubs and holiday activities and worked with North-East Sensory Services, Moray Women’s Aid, Moray Rape Crisis and other regional services. The Bosie delivered 400 sessions last year. Money raised will enable the Bosie to continue its work while seeking longer-term financial security.
